Current experience shows that particularly old, weakened and chronically ill people are at risk. Therefore, the Cancer Information Service Heidelberg (KID) has pointed out that this risk group may also include cancer patients. Especially, if they undergo immunosuppressive therapies.
Mistletoe preparations are used for the adjuvant treatment of tumorous diseases and do not have any weakening effect on the immune system (non-immunosuppressive). Therefore, mistletoe therapy does not increase the risk of infection for cancer patients.
